The nutritional value of Acai juice
While many claims of the amazing curative powers of the acai berry both true and fallacious exist. No one can dispute its definite nutritional value. Used by many native tribes in the Amazon basin region as there primary food source. Acai is rich in a wide range of essential nutrients. This fact has been well known in the region for many thousand of years.
One small cup of acai juice has over 300 calories which makes it a high energy food source. The juice contains significant quantities of nutritionally valuable fiber, carbohydrates and very importantly large quantities of digestible anti-oxidant compounds. Naturally fructose and many vitamins and minerals helps complete the nutritional mix.
The taste of acai juice takes a bit of practice to appreciate, often being described as “sweet and medicinal” many people just love the flavor. In Brazil over two hundred thousand liters of this healthy purple juice are consumed by the local population every year. As people around the world become aware of the nutritional benefits of acai the demand will surely increase.
What Type of Acai?
With so many different types of acai on the market it could be hard to tell which one to try. One of the first things to look for when purchasing is to make sure that you are getting 100% pure Acai Juice. The best way to tell is to look at the ingredients on the bottle. If it has anything other then acai is listed then it is not 100%. My theory is why pay a bunch of money for things you can get at the grocery store? You want to make sure your acai juice is pure. Also as a bonus, ask if it is certified organic, although that is not a make or break in my opinion it would be a plus.
